There are many gatherings in which banquet tables are needed. Whether a personal or corporate event, these are often one of the most important aspects. However, they are sometimes the last thing that people think of when in the planning stages. Sometimes, they are forgotten altogether until directly before the event! Then what do you do? Three days and counting and not a single table in sight! Luckily, there are many rental companies that can provide these, even on a last minute basis. Obviously, it is best to plan ahead so that you have a guarantee of availability, but in a pinch, chances are you can find a company with plenty to rent. Most companies also deliver, and some will set up for you too. Inquire about costs when you call.
The size of the banquet tables will depend on several things. The rectangular table measures either 6 foot or 8 foot. These will sit 8 people and 19 people, respectively. The round comes in several sizes. The 48" will seat 4-6, the 60" will seat 6-8 and the 72" will seat 8-10. You need to consider the size of the room your event will be held in when choosing your table shape and size. You should also think about the type of event you are having. For instance, at a formal sit down wedding reception, a round table is probably preferred over a rectangular table. The round will give a better look of elegance. Some to think about though, is that the round table is going to take up more room than the rectangular. When using rounds, you will need to figure 10-12 feet of square footage per person, where you will only need to figure 8 feet of square footage with the rectangular version.
When planning the positioning of the banquet tables for your event, remember to think about spacing. You need the space from table to table to be far enough apart to allow servers and guests to move about comfortably. You can figure about sixty inches allowance between the rectangular and at least fifty-four inches between the rounds.
You will also want to arrange for linens for the banquet tables. The table itself provides plenty of function, but not so much fashion. The size of the table will determine the size of the linen. You can choose between numerous colors of cloth. These can also be rented, usually from the same company that you have the table contract with. Linens come in nearly any color you can imagine. You can find solids, stripes, ginghams, lame's and lace to match nearly any party décor.
